GOD Said: I Don’t Save With Sword & Spear, The Battle Is Mine

Scripture Reference: 1 Samuel 17:47
“And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give you into our hands.”
1 Samuel 17:47 KJV
Oh boy, the battle that was written of in this chapter (1 Samuel 17) I know not only is relative to my life, but also you that are reading this right now as well!!! I know that typically the focus has been primarily on “little ol’ David defeating great big ol’ Goliath. Right? But what about how he defeated Goliath!!! No I’m not talking about his weapons of choice (a sling and 5 smooth stones — 1 Samuel 17:40), but the spoken Words that David proclaimed in full confidence of what our GOD was going to do for him in this situation!!!
Think about all the giants that you have had to face in your lives and still are. Have you had the confidence to boast in GOD’s Word as you’ve stood toe to toe with sickness and diseases, outright confrontations whether physical or verbal, adversities that were down right terrifying, drug and/or alcohol addictions that seem too hard to let go of or what about a chosen lifestyle that you know has a stronghold over your life?
“David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.”
1 Samuel 17:37 KJV
Take notice at what David said. He knew without any doubt that after all the other life and death encounters that GOD had brought him through, surely his biggest battle yet would be no different!!! Does this hold true for you? Are you bold in the face of what looks like you will surely take a loss in, yet you stand firm on your faith in GOD that He alone will give you the victory through His Son JESUS CHRIST?
“And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”
1 Samuel 17:32-33 KJV
Oh and let’s not forget about how many times those that doubted your resilience, counted you out, took verbal bets against you that you would fail, mocked your faith in the One True and Living GOD, told you to give up, said it wouldn’t work out in your favor, and/or tried to close doors on you through absentminded slander and flat out lies!!! But, you’re still standing!!! Why? How?
Because you either heard it before, read it before or already have stored it in your heart, that:
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”

Final Thought: This is the last time you will allow the lack of faith in others to sway yours.. this is the last time you allow the shortsighted views of others towards you shake loose the truth of GOD’s Word that you so desperately hold on to.. this is the last time you keep company with those who try to tear you down because of their own inabilities to believe every Word of GOD and what He says that He will do for those who trust in Him.. this is the last time you face a battle and try to use your own weapons of warfare, instead of declaring to the enemy that:
“for the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.”

“The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
