The Judas Spirit: Discernment  120th BDS – 4/11/2024 Scripture Reference: Luke 6:13-16 There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that JESUS knew that Judas Iscariot would betray Him when He chose him to be one of the twelve apostles. ”When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬ ”Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. As I sit here writing this even now, there are so many questions and variables racing through my brain. Would I have chosen Judas to be an apostle knowing that he would betray me? Without hesitation that answer is a resounding “NO”! Not only that, I would’ve called him out in front of the other 11 and then some. Then GOD showed me that discernment is often right in front of our very eyes and it comes in warnings so clear at times yet we choose to ignore it. Moreover, GOD showed me that His will be done in all things including when it is allowed to hurt us. He will get all the glory for bringing us through whatever deception we will face in this life just like He did when His only begotten Son suffered and died for us on the cross. JESUS still made Judas one of His twelve chosen all while knowing that he would be the one to orchestrate His capture and set in motion everything that led to His death. What we go through at the hands of others these days may not be as extreme by far, but can seem to be just as painful. Ask yourself: do I have it in me to allow GOD to avenge on my behalf? Will I pay attention to the warnings sent to help me avoid being deceived? Will I ask GOD for discernment to see the hidden intentions of others? Will I still show the same love that JESUS did towards Judas even when I am shown the true hearts of others towards me? The Warnings Of Looking Back 118th BDS – 3/28/2024 Scripture Reference: Luke 9:62, Luke 17:31-32, Genesis 19:17 & 26, Exodus 14:13 ”And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭62‬ ‭KJV‬‬ Our GOD has created us in His own image or likeness to worship Him and to do whatever pleases Him and Him only. So He warns us that if we do not accept, do and obey His will for us and the works that He has given us to do in and through His Name but instead turn and do what we desire and/or perform the desires of others for us, we are no good to Him and His Eternal Kingdom is not and will not be our home. ”In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Fear caused Elijah to even go as far as to ask the LORD to take his life.. his reason, because he felt like he was standing alone after all of the other prophets during his time had been killed. As this passage of Scripture points out (and there are many others as well), GOD called out the disobedience and stubborn hearts of His people. His creation. The ones that He made in His image. And, yet and still to this day He is still pointing to His people, His creation warning us to listen to His voice. Not only that, but to be obedient to His voice (Word) before we listen to anybody else’s. BIG FACTS!!! He told Abraham to get up and GO!!!! I know that typically the focus has been primarily on “little ol’ David defeating great big ol’ Goliath. Right? But what about how he defeated Goliath!!! No I’m not talking about his weapons of choice (a sling and 5 smooth stones — 1 Samuel 17:40), but the spoken Words that David proclaimed in full confidence of what our GOD was going to do for him in this situation!!! Think about all the giants that you have had to face in your lives and still are. Have you had the confidence to boast in GOD’s Word as you’ve stood toe to toe with sickness and diseases, outright confrontations whether physical or verbal, adversities that were down right terrifying, drug and/or alcohol addictions that seem too hard to let go of or what about a chosen lifestyle that you know has a stronghold over your life? “David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. He knew without any doubt that after all the other life and death encounters that GOD had brought him through, surely his biggest battle yet would be no different!!! Does this hold true for you? While some continue to wait for some kind of sign that our GOD is calling them, those that truly hear His voice and know Him will listen to the instructions that He has  given and is giving us through His Word. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” ‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭27‬ ‭KJV‬‬ I don’t believe any of you are blind by any means to what is going on in this present World around us and that time as we have known it and know it is certainly getting short until the coming of JESUS CHRIST. So what does His Word say about choosing to ignore His call to serve Him? “And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
